Video Explainer: How the Streisand Effect Protects Allies of Whistleblowers

Deep Dive Podcast: How backing Dr. Sasaki publicly saved pharmacist Norman Clement from attack

The contents on this page is primarily derived from the original article “STREISAND EFFECT: HOW PUBLICLY HELPING CASES LIKE DR. TERENCE SASAKI’S ACTUALLY PROTECTS ONE FROM BEING TARGETED” written and published by Norman Clement, a Pharmacist, a Dentist, an activist, blogger, and an American Hero.

“The Streisand Effect” is the phenomenon in which an attempt to hide, remove, or censor information results in the unintended consequence of the effort instead increasing public awareness of the information.”

In 2003, Streisand sued over an aerial photograph of her home, which had been downloaded only six times (including twice by her attorneys). Because of her lawsuit and suppression efforts, the site hosting the photos was visited by 420,000 people over the next month.

By stifling the truth, the Government actually amplifies it
By standing in the light, you actually protect yourself due to visibility
The only thing that silence does it make you an easier target.

We have highlighted the fact that the overwhelming majority of the almost six thousand health care professionals imprisoned and who have been targeted by our U.S. government, run by a narrow-minded group of anti-opioid Neo-Eugenists, have been women and minorities, despite the fact that most health care professionals are white and men…

With our cause, we see many people who “want to stay out of it”, think they can protect themselves by not getting involved, or otherwise avoid helping because of fear of being targeted themselves, especially if they themselves may have something to hide.  But in fact, the reverse is true. The reality is that by publicly supporting and backing our cause, such as spreading the word about the DOJ and our government targeting minorities and women, you actually protect yourself because they fear the Streisand effect.

This is the same reason that this blog, YouAreWithinTheNorms.com, and my advocacy of wrongfully convicted felons like Terence Sasaki, M.D., have protected me, Norman Clement, and my pharmacy license.

The DOJ/DEA raided and shutdown Clement's pharmacy taking everything.
Publicly backing Dr. Sasaki saved Pharmacist Clement
To avoid shing the light on Dr. Sasaki's case, the DEA had to return everything to Pharmacist Clement

Several years ago, I was aggressively targeted by the government, including the DEA and the DOJ. They shut down my pharmacy (Pronto Pharmacy LLC, Tampa, FL), seized my equipment and documents, and were investigating me with plans to charge me criminally.

My attorney and others advised me not to cooperate, to keep my head down, and not to trust the process. My attorney, Dale Sisco of Tampa; my Ohio State University buddy, Scott Thomas; and my late brother, Walter R. Clement, who had served 35 years on the Detroit Police Department, concurred that the DOJ-DEA process, along with the Federal Court System, was rigged.

They made it clear that the process was not made for me, a successful black man. It is made for rich, white men to maintain themselves on top at our expense, using a process of Regulatory Racism. I was but “low-hanging fruit,” and my only path to victory was to publicly expose the government’s deception.

As what I thought was my final F.U. to the government and this racist society, I decided to create a blog and publicly support the full exoneration of Terence Sasaki, M.D., a whistleblower whose conviction is the most obviously fabricated among all the healthcare professionals I have seen.

Shortly after I did that, just when I thought the hammer would come down on me, the government, DOJ, and DEA returned all my property and terminated the investigation and witch hunt. In fact, this is not unusual for many of us who support the doctors the DOJ has targeted.

For example, Dr. Sasaki has numerous supporters who have publicly backed him, including those who wrote letters of support to the court in 2014 to speak to his character and question his conviction (see the bottom of https://Dr.TSasaki.org). NONE of those supporters have ever been targeted or retaliated against. There are those who have written articles about him, appeared in videos, written emails to organizations, and given testimonials for his webpage on his behalf, and none of them have been retaliated against.

I want to discuss several real-life examples of how attempts to silence whistleblowers and their supporters have backfired.

1. In June 2013, attempts to discredit Edward Snowden pushed mass surveillance into a global political debate, amplifying and lending credibility to his claims.

2. In June 1971, Daniel Ellsberg leaked the Pentagon Papers, which the NY Times published. Attempts to suppress the story increased public interest in the leak and its contents.

3. In 2017, Wells Fargo strengthened the whistleblowing narrative because of extreme retaliation, forcing the company to reinstate, pay compensation, and clear the names of those who challenged Wells Fargo.

4. In 2017, OSHA intervened to force John Deere to pay back and front pay to a similar whistleblower, as their retaliatory actions validated the seriousness of the original complaint rather than burying it.

5. In 2002, Sibel Edmonds’ FBI-related disclosures were magnified by attempts to marginalize and silence journalists following the power struggle itself, because the whistleblower was treated as a dangerous embarrassment.

6. In 2010, attempts to isolate Julian Assange, Chelsea Manning, and their supporters intensified media interest in the treatment of sources and the leak ecosystem, completely backfiring on those who tried to control the narrative.

Speaking out about Dr. Sasaki is what saved Pharmacist Norman Clement
The Government tries to avoid shining light on the truth by pretending to ignore Dr. Sasaki and Clement
Despite the immense decades long campaign against the UFO/UAP reality, the truth still came out

Supporting Dr. Sasaki is safer than staying silent because retaliation often backfires. When institutions punish people for backing a whistleblower, it can draw more scrutiny to the underlying facts and make the whistleblower’s claims look more credible, not less.

How easy would it be for the government to shut down my website or Dr. Sasaki’s?

The reason they don’t do it is that they want to avoid the Streisand effect… When someone is telling the truth, and that truth hurts someone, those people would be very unwise to attack the whistleblower and their supporters. There is no better example of the lengths the American government will go to hide the truth than the UFO scandal.

For decades, the U.S. Government, our government of this supposed greatest country on the planet, launched a deliberate discrediting campaign to try to silence the UFO narrative. The government’s long-running approach mixed real national-security secrecy with ridicule and institutional resistance, harming many people and deepening public suspicion. It did not fully work because suppression and mockery can delay the truth from coming out, but they also create the conditions for a bigger backlash once pieces of the truth start to surface.

Now many people have to hide their heads in shame because they shamed those who were telling the truth about UFOs.

Dr. Sasaki is a two time whistleblower that the Government wants to silence.
Thousands of medical professionals who are women & minorities have been targeted by our Government
The dirty truth is the DOJ & DEA target women & minority health professionals

As well documented by the evidence (https://Dr.TSasaki.org), Dr. Sasaki is a two-time whistleblower exposing both NYU’s fraud against the Veterans Affairs and the DEA’s deliberate promotion (not opposition) of the prescription drug crisis.

He remains convicted because the government does not want him to shine a light on the fact that the DOJ is deliberately miscategorizing nonwhite convicts as white, so it can fabricate fake statistics to debunk claims of racism and ensure that the general public does not feel the need to intervene (the smoking-gun document, where the government claims Dr. Sasaki is “White, Non-Hispanic”, is on his website https://Dr.TSasaki.org).

Once the truth is made public, heads will roll, and Dr. Sasaki is set to recover millions of dollars for his wrongful conviction. In fact, you too can help him get exonerated (https://dr.tsasaki.org/5-million-reward-for-assistance-with-dr-sasaki-exoneration/) by shining a light on his case, because, just like the UFO/UAP truths, the truth will eventually be revealed regardless of what the government tries to do to stop it.

You can either benefit from helping him or wait until the sparks fly, but don’t let fear of retaliation be a reason not to help. Dr. Sasaki is one of over 2,000 medical professionals, most of whom are women and minorities, who have been unfairly targeted by our government (https://doctorsofcourage.org/professionals-attacked/).

Now you know one important reason for the shortage of doctors in America. It is important to stand up for the truth. Hopefully, you too will realize this before it is too late.
